3. Rewriting with AI

Two artificial intelligence tools help you write: Régénérer (Regenerate) to correct a specific passage, and Copilot to edit the document following your instructions, written or spoken. Copilot writes in French, the language of the editor’s documents.

3.1 Regenerate a passage

Régénérer corrects and improves the selected passage: spelling, capitals, punctuation, wording. It’s ideal right after dictating.

1. Select the passage to improve.
2. Click Régénérer (the two arrows in a circle).
3. The new text is written in place of the old one.

Not happy with the result? Annuler (Undo, or Ctrl+Z) takes you back to the original text.

💳 Charged by the number of words produced. With no selection, a message asks you to choose the text to regenerate first.

3.2 Edit the document with Copilot

The Copilot panel, on the right, works on the open document. Describe what you want: Copilot writes, then edits the document directly.

A few example requests (in French, like the documents):

• Personal paperwork: « Rédige une lettre au bailleur pour signaler une fuite d’eau dans la cuisine depuis le 2 septembre. » (Write a letter to the landlord reporting a water leak in the kitchen since 2 September.)
• Business: « Transforme ce devis en facture n° 2026-045, payable à 30 jours. » (Turn this quote into invoice no. 2026-045, payable in 30 days.)
• Public administration: « Mets ce document au format d’une convocation, avec l’en-tête de la République du Sénégal. » (Format this document as an official notice, with the Republic of Senegal header.)

Give it the facts

Copilot doesn’t invent amounts, numbers or clauses: give it the exact information. When something is missing, it inserts a [à compléter] (to be completed) field and tells you.

Every change made by Copilot can be undone with Annuler, like a change made with the keyboard.

💳 Only changes to your document are charged: a small fixed amount per change, plus the number of words Copilot writes into it. Its answers in the chat are free.

3.3 Talk to Copilot, in French or Wolof

A voice message

Click the microphone in the Copilot panel, speak, then click again to stop and send. You can speak French or Wolof: the message is transcribed, translated into French if needed, and Copilot applies it to the document.

An existing recording

The Joindre un fichier (Attach a file — the paperclip) button also accepts audio recordings, for example a hearing recorded on a phone. Attach it, then give your instruction.

A photo taken with your phone

Next to the paperclip, the phone icon opens a QR code: scan it, photograph the page (a letter template, a form, a letter to rework…) and tap Envoyer (Send). The photo shows up as an attachment on your message, without being saved in Mes fichiers. Several pages make one PDF.

Then tell Copilot what to do with it:

• “Lay out my document like this template.”: the photo is a reference for structure and presentation;
• “Extract the text of this page and add it to the end of my document.”: Copilot transcribes the page and merges it into the open document, without overwriting it.

Case study: from a hearing to an official report

At the Thiaroye gendarmerie station, two shopkeepers come to file a complaint after a burglary at their shops. They speak Wolof; the gendarme records the hearing on his phone.

1. He creates an empty document, for example « PV d’audition - vol au marché » (Hearing report - market theft).
2. He attaches the recording to Copilot.
3. He types his instruction: « Rédige le procès-verbal d’audition des deux plaignants à partir de cet enregistrement. » (Write the hearing report of the two complainants from this recording.)
4. Copilot transcribes the hearing, translates it into French, then writes the report: the complainants’ identities, each one’s statement, what the guard saw, signatures. Information missing from the recording (date, place, the guard’s name, the officer’s rank) is left [à compléter].

Always proofread the report

Copilot sticks to what was stated, but the transcription and the write-up can still contain discrepancies. Check names, amounts, dates and who said what, listening to the recording again if needed, before having it signed.

The gendarme then completes the document with the keyboard or by dictation (part 2), and exports it (part 5).
